Net Zero Accelerate Program Phase 2 Workshops
Description
Registrations are now open for council staff to be involved in upcoming workshops as part of phase 2 of the Net Zero Accelerate Program.
About these workshops
The workshops will help council officers increase their skills and capability to embed emissions management into council operations.
Participants will:
- build an understanding of sustainability reporting standards, including how and when councils may be required to report emissions on an ongoing basis
- enable councils to assess emissions reduction priorities.
The workshops are being run by program partners 'dsquared Consulting' in four half-day intensive sessions.

Increase your skills in emissions management
The Net Zero Accelerate Program is proudly supported by the Department for Environment and Water, and managed through the LGA’s Climate Partnerships program.
The program began in 2024 and has supported fifteen regional councils to develop emission inventories and reduction plans for greener solutions within their local council operations.
This first phase of the program also resulted in a Best-Practice Guide to Emissions Reduction and a Sector-wide Summary of Local Government Emissions.
