Country and Climate addresses one of the most pressing questions facing Australia today: what future are we shaping, and who is guiding that direction?

Building on the critical conversations of 2025 and 2026, this event moves beyond reflection to responsibility. It positions Indigenous Knowledge Systems not as supplementary perspectives, but as essential frameworks for responding to climate change, economic systems, technology and governance in Australia. Led by First Nations voices, Country and Climate examines the limitations of extractive industrial, economic and digital models, and explores regenerative, Country‑centred alternatives grounded in relationship, stewardship and long‑term thinking.

The program engages with key themes including regenerative economies, cultural land and water management, data and digital sovereignty, youth leadership, and the inextricable connection between the wellbeing of people and the wellbeing of Country. It is a forum for truth‑telling, accountability and systems‑level change. Hear from leading researchers and industry experts across sectors, and move forward with Country leading, toward a future defined by responsibility, renewal and shared care for generations to come. We invite you to join us and be part of the conversation, and solutions, towards a net zero future.

Tickets are free and include light catering throughout the day. Thank you to our event partners for making this possible.

This is an in-person event only.

Supported by UTS Transdisciplinary School, WWF-Australia, Sustainability Advantage, NSW Dept of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water and The Gaimaragal Foundation.
