This event is for young changemakers across Brisbane to come together and build our networks, to facilitate collaboration between and across like-minded organisations or individuals working at the “intersections” of various issue areas, and transition to being more networked changemakers by sharing resources, ideas, and increasing our impact.

We know that networking can be daunting, even for the most confident of us, so we will have a number of facilitated networking activities so you won't just have to approach people and navigate any awkward conversations. Doesn't a round-table "discussion" facilitated by LEGO Serious Play sound far less daunting!?
There will be an open mic for anyone who wants to get up and let guests know about opportunities or projects that they are working on that are open to collaboration. After all, team work makes the dream work (in this case, the dream is positive social change!)
While we are all meeting changemakers working in different areas and building our own connections, together, we will be finding solutions to the question: how can we build networks to catalyse change by embracing collaboration and nurturing the next-generation of leaders? This will kick off our campaign to assist organisations across the social change space to embed a networked approach to social change in the way they operate
There will be refreshments, champagne flowing all night (but if you prefer something else you can BYO), three separate rooms and a pool table, and a photographer (we'll try and keep your snaps LinkedIn friendly) if you prefer to take some time to relax and have fun

Whether you’re affiliated with one organisation, you wear many hats, or work solo

MORE THAN JUST A NETWORKING EVENT

Together, through facilitated networking and think tank activities, we will come together to find solutions to the question: how can we build networks to catalyse change by embracing collaboration and nurturing the next-generation of leaders?

Our networked approach understands that social change lives beyond the work of any single organisation, and even beyond the work of the key actors within the space. It requires everyone to marshal all the necessary resources, create a larger change vision and lead people towards that vision.

If instead of working just to build and strengthen our own organisations, changemakers worked to build networks, we could be much more effective at creating long-term social change.
