A New Moon Water Gathering in Gamiyagang
Event description
Under a new moon on Fri 25 July from 4:30pm
spend time together to share food, connect and
acknowledge the important role water plays in our lives.
Water is what makes life work.
The universal solvent, the quencher of thirst.
The home to as many sea-kin as there are on our soils,
who are sometimes, out of sight out of mind.
Across our Earthly home - water has been forgotten.
For example, in South Australia right now there is:
drought that will be worse than the Millenium Drought while the Murray-Darling Basin continues to not meet science-based targets to a future for our ecology or communities' future
thousands of dolphins, sharks, fish, oysters and more sea-kin washing up on the shores of Kaurna Country due to an algael bloom the size of Bali
Join us on a Friday afternoon to connect with:
Burramutta River from Gamiyagang (Glebe)
old friends and new and
and give thanks to a such a simple element can create so much life
There is a shelter, and so this will go ahead in rain, but not if it's stormy :)
