Saturday, July 19 @ Twisted Lime, Liverpool St, Hobart
A night celebrating eclectic dance music, with performances from local & interstate selectors | Expect unexpected rhythms & sounds from genre surfing artists.
As a new pledge to the Hobart dance music scene, coffey.tunes brings together established Nipaluna legends Arunya & Morphlink, along with Alice Springs funk addict Kofi Berko | This diverse mix of selectors promises to deliver a night dance music that refuses to stay still. New Origins is about finding a strange homely familiarity in new places and people, a relatable feeling and great reason to dance together.
coffey.tunes is a producer and DJ new to Hobart, arriving from Aotearoa in early 2025. His unique mix of house, disco and future garage is already making marks in the local Nipaluna scene and with influences like Bicep, Crazy P and Jamie XX, his original productions showcase a tasteful blend of electronic, organic and euphoric sounds.
Inspired by sounds of the underground, Arunya is an electronic music enthusiast hailing from nipaluna (Hobart), lutruwita (Tasmania). Selecting music that speaks to her soul, Arunya aims to provide musical journeys through storytelling that inspire and energise individuals. Devoted to all things deep and hypnotic, Arunya always delivers an authentic and inspiring dancefloor experience.
Morphlink is a genre blender who morphs into something that her mind set to. Sharing her journey of experiencing melody and rhythm, whilst also linking the earthlings through music. On a mission to heal all beings through the power of frequencies in the form of beats that can tingle your cells.
Friday-born Kofi is a selector who chooses rhythm over violence. His high-energy sets follow one rule: don’t be an a** but do shake it. To all sounds—funk, Afro, and more—it’s an enthusiastic yes. Nothing forced. Just big love and beats.
