New Parents' Relaxation Toolkit (Saltbush)
Event description
Calling parents of bubs 0-2! Join Penny Jones, Harry Edwards and Isaac Gee for a deep dive into the art and science of relaxation!
Our nervous systems are highly evolved networks that developed to keep us safe. And they do! Yet in our contemporary world, many of us find our nervous systems under too much load – activated too often, and too much.
This event will weave storytelling, therapeutic music, discussion, evidence-based breathing practices and restorative yoga to open up new ways to understand, and work with your nervous system.
You’ll learn what happens in a stress response, why we can’t just ‘think our way out of them’, practical tools to work with stress responses in the moment, and how you can support your nervous system to be more flexible over the long term. You’ll also learn the art of deep, genuinely restorative rest – we’ll offer an immersion into music therapy, breathing and yoga practices specifically designed to stimulate your ‘rest and digest’ response.
Finish with tea, snacks and time to chat.
We hope you’ll join us on this adventure into our nervous systems, and come away nourished, informed, and ready to know, love and nurture your nervous system.
