New Zealand Discourse Conference
Event description
After a 3-year hiatus, we are pleased to announce the return of the New Zealand Discourse Conference! We welcome 20-minute presentations from any discipline and any framework within discourse analysis and discourse studies. As our attention increasingly turns to issues of social justice, we particularly encourage abstracts in the areas of social and linguistic injustice.
Send your abstract (250 words plus 5 key words) to meredith.marra@canterbury.ac.nz by 21 October 2024. Acceptances by 31 October 2024.
If you would like to be considered for a student scholarship to cover registration costs (total 4 scholarships), please indicate this with your abstract.
On Friday night, 6th December, there will be a chance to come together for dinner (pay as you go). Late afternoon of Thursday 5 December there will be a pre-conference meet up. Postgraduate students are especially welcome.
Plenary speakers are Susan Ehrlich (Professor of Linguistics, York University) and Māmari Stephens (Reader in Law, Victoria University of Wellington)
