New Zealand Youth Choir at St David's Cathedral
Event description
The New Zealand Youth Choir (NZYC) has achieved considerable success since its formation in 1979. Performances in New Zealand and twelve international tours including visits to the UK, Europe, Canada, USA, Australia, Singapore, Russia, the Republic of Korea, China and the Pacific Islands have firmly established its reputation for consistency, energy and excellence. The Choir is comprised of around fifty 18 to 25-year-old singers and operates on a 3-year audition cycle.
In the last few years the award-winning NZ Youth Choir has toured the South Pacific, gone viral on Facebook, sung for the Prime Minister and had many events cancelled by the pandemic. Now they’re rearing to get back on the road and share their music across Australia.
The choir is on tour around Australia during November. This tour marks the end of this choral-cycle with this group of singers. We’ll be performing repertoire from the last three years, as well as some newer pieces.
This concert is held at St David's Cathedral in Hobart and is open to everyone.
