Event description
Would prefer a unique entertainment experience in the valley of love, or just another night out in the Hobart CBD?
Ride the Rainbow Bus from Hobart to New Norfolks inclusive indoor garden and brewery, The Welcome Swallow, for the legendary biannual
New NorFUNK queer variety show and TasPride fundraiser for Artfully Queer. Sip Derwent Valley ciders, Welcome Swallow beers, and local wine. Eat delicious food from the food truck while you soak up Tasmanian queer culture, as you and your friends watch over twelve ridiculously talented drag, burlesque, and pole performers. Expect to titter, to be teased, titillated and thoroughly transfixed.
When the shows are over, the Rainbow Bus will then return you and your crew safely back to Hobart.
Or you can be master of your own destiny, and hero to your friends as a designated driver as you drive yourself and your crew along the picturesque Lyle Highway to 99 Ring Rd, New Norfolk.
But if you skip the bus and drive yourself, you'll miss the onboard entertainment we have lined up. Our new cabin crew have been hand selected by the Boyz, put through intense training and are ready to make your Rainbow Bus journey a memorable and enjoyable one.
New NorFUNK is a celebration of contemporary Tasmanian LGBTIQA+ performance culture. All New NorFUNK performers are locally sourced and produced from the finest ingredients. Each unique performer has been quality checked by the Back Door Boyz (the Welcome Swallow’s resident Drag Kings).
As a bonus, you can pat yourself on the back for helping support Tasmanian LGBTIQA+ creatives. Because New NorFUNK also raises money for TasPride’s Artfully Queer Exhibition & Arts Program.
