‘Next Steps Motivational Interviewing – strengthening skills and practice of MI’ is a workshop that builds upon your existing MI background.

Setting the scene: you have completed an introductory course in motivational interviewing. You may be trying out some of the ideas you learned and wondering how to apply them more. You might be interested in review, practice and extension of your skills and understanding of MI. You might have further questions about how to apply it more in your workplace.

This 2-day workshop:

has a strong focus on practical and experiential activities
Requires people to have existing knowledge and experience in using Motivational Interviewing – minimum 2 days training or equivalent

‘Next Steps Motivational Interviewing – strengthening skills and practice of MI’ is a hands-on and reflective practice course that aims to:

briefly review your existing MI knowledge
Hone your MI skills further
Develop more intention in the use of MI
Increase your awareness of your influence on change talk

Activities will include opportunity for:

intensive practice of skills
feedback about MI practice in a safe and supportive manner
Updating knowledge of MI (eg recent research and development)
finding ways to continue learning, developing and strengthening your MI practice
