Webinar 2: Next Steps on a Journey to Meaningful Employment
Thursday 27th March 2025 10.30am - 12.00pm
This second webinar in the 2-part series will provide secondary students and their families with an opportunity to stop and consider the importance of work experience and what can be discovered. The option of creating your own work role through customised employment will be explored along with developing a ‘positive pitch’ for an employer. Ideas for how to approach employers and finding the right job support will also be explained.
The webinar will include family stories of what is possible.Â
This interactive webinar will cover:
• How to consider a more in-depth discovery process related to the student’s interests, strengths and attributes.
• How to foster work experience and employment opportunities
• How to engage employment supports
• Exploring micro-enterprises and other options
Learning Objectives
Participants who attend this webinar will:
• Understand the concept and steps of Customised Employment
• Learn about the discovery process and how to employ it for their young person
• Explore micro-enterprises
• Identify how to research and approach potential workplaces and employers
• Recognise how to set up effective support for their young person’s employment
• Incorporate Employment Goals into their young person’s NDIS planÂ

Who Should Attend?
This webinar is for secondary school students with disabilities and their families. Supporters and allies are also welcome to attend.

We will be using the video meeting platform Zoom to host the webinar.
You will need access to:
· a computer or iPad/tablet or smart phone with internet access;
· speakers/sound
