Join us at the next Rendezvous for the topic: Using a Skills Matrix effectively

In the complex world of not-for-profit governance, a well-designed Skills Matrix is one of the most powerful tools available to Boards, Chairs, and Executive Leaders. It provides a clear, visual snapshot of the collective capabilities of the board against the strategic needs of the organisation, highlighting strengths, identifying critical gaps and informing targeted recruitment and succession planning.

When used effectively, a Skills Matrix moves beyond a simple compliance exercise to become a strategic governance asset. It supports better decision-making, enhances board diversity and capability, reduces risk, and ensures the board remains fit-for-purpose as the organisation evolves.

Mastering this practical tool is essential for NFP leaders committed to building strong governance.
