Ngā wāhi motuhake – Waitahanui Awa haerenga
Description
Ngā wāhi motuhake – Waitahanui Awa haerenga
10am to 3pm 26 Ākuhata
Ngā wāhi motuhake – Waitahanui Awa haerenga is an opportunity to observe and connect with our awa, learn about its significance for our people, and explore how we can put principles of kaitiakitanga into action.
We will identify how Waitahanui changes at different points, and how we can care for it, so that it continues to thrive for our mokopuna.
The haerenga will be on Rātoru 26 Ākuhata. We will meet at Pounamunui to start at 10am. Throughout the day we will follow Waitahanui awa all the way to Ōtamārakau. We expect the haerenga to conclude at about 3pm.
Kai will be provided for kaitahi, but please have parakuīhi before you arrive. Don’t forget to pack a water bottle and wear warm kākahu appropriate for the outdoors.
A moderate level of fitness is required.
No cap on attendees - but please register if you are planning on attending so we can ensure all the appropriate logistics are in place.
