Ngunawal Knowledge-Sharing: Understanding and Preserving Local Cultural Heritage in West Macgregor
Join us for a unique opportunity to learn about the rich cultural heritage of the local Ngunawal/Ngunnawal people through guided interpretations of significant sites in west Macgregor. This event is designed to build awareness, deepen knowledge, and foster appreciation for Ngunawal history.
Event Details:
This event will include Ngunawal Traditional Custodians Wally Bell and Karen Denny sharing their knowledge and leading a walk around artefact scatter sites and other significant sites in west Macgregor.
A light lunch will be provided -- please let us know if you have any dietary requirements.
Participants may be walking across sloping and uneven ground, and standing for long periods of time. The nearest public toilets are a 7 minute drive away at Charnwood shops or Kippax shops.
Who should attend?
Everyone is welcome! (though spaces are limited). This event is open to community members, families, local historians, landcarers, educators, and anyone interested in learning more about the rich cultural history of our region.
What to Bring:
- Sturdy shoes
- Long pants
- Hat
- Water bottle
Location:
West Macgregor starting location to be confirmed. We will email registered participants with the location before the event.
