Ngutuku Miyurna - Beacon - A Free Four Day STEM Hands-on Technology Holiday Program
Event description
Yitpi Yartapuultiku in partnership with BAE Systems Australia, present this free 4-day holiday program inviting students aged between 11-15 years residing in the City of Port Adelaide & Enfield to explore their connection to country through virtual storytelling, eco-inspired VR creations and 3D design.
Ngutuku Miyurna is a transformative four-day experience that integrates First Nations knowledge, extended reality (XR) technology, and sustainability principles to empower students as future changemakers.
Guided by insights from Senior Kaurna Man, Uncle Mickey O’Brien, students will explore the deep connections between land, water, and community, learning how First Nations perspectives can shape a more sustainable and technologically advanced future.
This program fosters deep respect for Country and sustainable innovation, encouraging students to blend ancient wisdom with emerging technologies. By engaging with First Nations perspectives, students will develop solutions that honour cultural heritage, environmental stewardship, and future focused design.
This program provides an opportunity to celebrate student achievements throughout the program, strengthens connection to Country, and inspire future pathways in STEM.
