Nike Air Max Day - the day the original Air Max 1 was released in 1987 - is coming up this Sunday March 26th, and to celebrate Supply Store, Crown Ruler, Planet Trip & Skylab Radio are joining forces with a day until night party at Whitehart Bar. From 12pm - 10pm, strap in for a party with live music acts and DJs both celebrated locally and across the globe. Entry is free but RSVP is essential, confirm your attendance.
The local live acts holding it down on the day are Izy - the 3-piece outfit playing future soul with old sensibilities, and CD - an alternative r&b vocalist inspired by hip hop and jazz. From across the globe we have dreamcastmoe - singer, songwriter, MC and producer traversing across R&B, funk, soul and hip hop Soichi Terada - the Tokyo resident who cut his teeth on video game composition and is now considered a world-class deep-house and electronica legend.
As for DJs, Jarman will be opening the celebration before later in the event the Oakland-based DJ and producer Space Ghost ignites with funk and boogie, Naarm-based purveyor of global club music C.FRIM takes the flame, and ending on a stellar B2B from the UK-based Shy One & Ruby Savage.
