Finally, a movie that combines Ninjas with Jazzercise!

A non-stop smashup of 80s kungfu schlock mixed with supernaturally enhanced legwarmers, Ninja III: The Domination teaches us the lesson that “Only a Ninja can Destroy a Ninja.” And also, that V8 juice can be used as a sex aid and ALSO ALSO there is no limit to the number of genres you can combine in your film. Showing the sort of creative exuberance that Marvel could only dream of, this movie combines NINJAS with FLASHDANCE by way of THE EXORCIST. What results is a glorious, confounding, hilarious mess that I think is one of the greatest 80s movies ever.

Lucinda Dickey (star of BREAKIN’ and BREAKIN’ 2: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO) is a young dancer/telephone lineswoman possessed by the spirit of an evil ninja, who forces her to avenge his death at the hands of the Los Angeles Police Department. I’m just going to say that like it’s a normal plot and move on, ok?

It also features perhaps the most tonally off romance in cinema history as she is courted (in 80s terms, we would call it stalking now) by the hairiest cop in the LAPD, who just happens to have killed the very Ninja now possessing his new girlfriend. Will this cause problems in their budding romance? Well, nothing that the strategic application of tomato juice can’t solve.

Although it is third in Cannon Film’s ‘NINJA TRILOGY’, it has nothing to do with its predecessors regarding plot or characters. Ninja III: The Domination is a stand-alone film – but will it stand up to our scrutiny as we decide if it is RAD, BAD or MAD?
