What is NLNL?

A casual free-form dance session in the dark for the pure joy of dancing.

At the heart of No Lights No Lycra (NLNL) is the belief that everyone can dance.

A global dance community that started in Melbourne by two friends in 2009, NLNL has grown to over 75 locations all around the world!

There is no light, no lycra (you can wear lycra if you want hehe), no teacher, no steps to learn, no technique - just free movement. NLNL is a space where you can completely let go and shake out the stresses of the week. This is an inclusive, non-pretentious place to completely be yourself.

What to expect?

Arrive 10 minutes early to a calm, low lit room, where you can find a space to call your own for the next hour. When we're ready, we dim the lights and start with some gentle tracks to warm up to, before building into a diverse range of genres that will get your heart rate up!

Adherence to the NLNL guidelines is essential - minimal talking, dancing on your own, non-contact, no phones.

What should I bring?

You, comfy clothes, and a water bottle!

NLNL is a drug and alcohol free event - please respect everyone's right to dance in a safe inclusive space!
