Event description

Not just sport, not just therapy. “NoFilters Needed” is designed to help youth face challenges, build self-confidence, and foster better peer interaction.

Welcome to the No Filters Needed: Be Real, Be You workshop! This is a FREE event for all young people aged 12 - 17 years old.

Join us at the Tait Duke Community Cottage for an afternoon of authenticity and self-expression, learn valuable coping strategies for anxiety and stress, and have fun by connecting with others.

This workshop will be facilitated by the awesome Janelle Parsons, the founder of Rise & Thrive Co., a Sunshine Coast-based charity. Rise & Thrive delivers trauma-informed programs to support youth mental health and prevent disengagement. Janelle is a qualified counsellor and survivor of family violence who combines professional expertise with lived experience to create impactful early intervention programs like No Filters Needed, now implemented across several Queensland schools.

Her work has been recognised with multiple awards, including Sunshine Coast Community Hero and a 2025 Business Women’s Awards finalist. Through her leadership, Rise & Thrive Co. is helping young people transform trauma into triumph.
