Event description

No Lights No Lycra is casual free-form dancing in the dark – for the pure joy of dancing.

Doors open at 7.30pm, music on and lights off from 7.45pm.

To ensure the safety of attendees and their belongings, the venue doors are locked when we start dancing so please arrive between 7.30pm–7.45pm.

COVID-19 Safety

All bookings are online. There will be no door sales or cash sales so please do not turn up to the venue without a booking.

As per the rules of the venue, it is a requirement that you do not attend the studio if you are a close contact or if you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. The Fourth Floor complies with all recommended Government safety controls and hygiene measures to ensure risk minimisation for community health and wellbeing.

Full names of all ticket holders are required for COVID-19 safety and to make obtaining a ticket fair for everyone.

Please confirm with others of their availability before booking for them – if a full name of an attendee is missing, the ticket may be automatically refunded.

DEVICES
If you would like to wear a Fitbit or an Apple watch, it must be covered with a dark sweatband. Even on certain modes, Apple watches glow from underneath so they must be well covered if you want to wear them. Sweatbands can be purchased from KmartBig W and sporting goods stores.

If you're bringing a mobile phone with you, either leave it out in the main space or turn it off or on aeroplane mode during the session. These measures ensure that the lights from these devices don't distract other dancers.

DANCING ETIQUETTE
Although you are sharing a space with other dancers, No Lights No Lycra is intended to be a solo experience which is why distractions are to be kept to a minimum. Attendees are encouraged to clap their hands, click their fingers and sing along to the music but there is to be no talking or excessive laughing during the session.

Each attendee comes to these sessions for different reasons – whether it is for active meditation, exercise, stress release or all three – so it is important that all dancers respect this and enjoy it for themselves!

Please try to stay within your dancing area and don't roam around the room while dancing; this can be quite distracting for other dancers and having someone in their space may restrict them from dancing. Finding a small light in the room to check as a point of reference can help with this.

Please try to socially distance as much as possible.

WHAT TO BRING / WEAR
I recommend that you bring a water bottle and wear clothes you can move freely in (yes, even lycra!) Some dancers wear shoes and others go barefoot, that choice is up to you and what you find most comfortable.
