No Third Tulla Runway - Maribyrnong community forum
Description
No 3rd Tulla Runway and Climate Action Maribyrnong will be holding a community forum on Tuesday 24 October at Maidstone Community Centre, to provide residents with information pertaining to Melbourne Airport's 3rd runway proposal.
With the federal transport minister Catherine King and Federal Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek currently assessing the 3rd runway proposal, the forum will focus on the impacts the runway is likely to cause to the community and the local environment.
The forum is an opportunity for the community to hear from community members with expertise is health and education, as well as local climate action groups. There will also be an extensive Q&A, where you will be able to ask questions, raise your concerns and have your voice heard in an open and public forum.
Some of the topics that will be covered are:
• The absence of an independent assessment of the proposed third runway’s health, environment, climate and financial impacts
• The environmental impacts that have been identified in Melbourne Airport's public documents
• Health risks the expansion is likely to cause to the Victorian community
• What future actions the community can and should take
