This season, Merge Dance Theatre company dancers will enter a world where darkness takes many forms.

NOIR is a bold and visceral contemporary dance production exploring darkness, power, mystery and control.

From shifting shadows and blindness to the corporate machine, the commanding presence of a maestro and the mysticism of witchcraft, Merge Dance Theatre moves between worlds where all things dark and unseen come to life. 

NOIR journeys through worlds where the darkness can conceal, transform, seduce and empower.

Through dynamic contemporary choreography, atmospheric soundscapes and striking theatrical imagery, Merge Dance Theatre challenges the way we perceive what is dark, asking whether darkness is something to fear, something to hide within, or something that gives us power.

Where light ends, the story begins.
