Day 2 SYDNEY TO NORFOLK ISLAND Friday 07 June 2025 (BD)
After breakfast, we return to the Sydney airport to start our Norfolk Island adventure. Warmly greeted upon arrival, we transferred to our accommodation at the lovely South Pacific Resort. The resort is set in lush subtropical gardens with mountain and valley views. It is ideally located within the township of Burnt Pine, so we don’t have far to go to appreciate the shops when not on tour. Settling into our rooms, enjoy a rest, or perhaps take a wander around the resort to see what’s on offer. We have a fun night out and join the Night as a Convict Dinner! We dress as convicts and along with the Commandant, we are in for an evening of gaiety, feasting, and singing. Our convict outfits are issued to us for the evening!! Great food! Great fun!

Day 3 GET TO KNOW NORFOLK Saturday 08 June 2025 (BD)
We have time this morning to visit the markets before we head off on the Orientation tour. We will be introduced to the island to set the scene for our stay. Our tour includes a visit to the convict buildings in historic Kingston and St Barnabas Chapel, built from the ruins of the New Gaol. Late morning we visit the stunning 360° panoramic painting at Cyclorama which continues to impress with its ‘wow’ factor. It brings to life the Bounty mutiny and the history of the Norfolk Island people and is a great way to finish our tour.
Later we freshen up ready for collection by Baunti Tours and head to the western side of the island for the wonderful Island Fish Feast. Perched on the clifftop above Anson Bay we will have an eagle-eyed view of the tiny crescent-shaped beach and the magnificent spread of ocean stretching to the far horizon. We’ll enjoy paddock-to-plate freshness including local fish, prepared the local way! We’ll be entertained by an entertainer and Tahitian-style dancers. On conclusion, we return to our resort.

Day 5 BOUNTY DAY Monday 09 June 2025 (BLD)
Our Bounty Day Picnic tour departs this morning as we join the Bounty Mutineer descendants as they re-enact the landing of their forefathers. The landing takes place at the Kingston Pier, the oldest pier in the Southern Hemisphere. You can follow the procession of the Bounty Mutineers' descendants dressed in period costumes to the Cenotaph to pay respects to fallen heroes where hymns are sung. Then it is onto the Cemetery where wreaths are laid, local hymns, and the Pitcairn Anthem, (Norfolk Island’s national anthem) are sung. The Bounty Mutineer descendants then make their way to the All Saints Church for the judging of the best-dressed families. You can observe the tradition of the children of the Bounty Mutineers' descendants rolling down the Government House hill. Then it’s off to The Compound for morning tea followed by a traditional Island picnic lunch. Before lunch, the Norfolk grace will be sung. We’ll be sampling some traditional Norfolk wettles and enjoying complimentary red and white wine, orange juice, tea, and coffee. Having spent a unique day in Norfolk today, we return to the resort.

Day 6 NORFOLK AND CONVICTS Tuesday 10 June 2025 (BD)
After breakfast, we join the excursion on the Convict Kingston Tour. Taken to Kingston, we hear about the first settlers, the Polynesians who came 900 years ago, and the facts and legends associated with the first and second convict settlements. We have some time to purchase lunch before our afternoon tour Next, we meet firsthand local passionate producers on our Taste of Norfolk tour. Taste and discover the fascinating history of Norfolk Island liqueurs, producing 15 liqueurs, rum, and whiskey from mostly local ingredients. Visit a local beekeeper where you’ll view flow hikes and learn about the local honeybees. Meet a local host making salt from the oceans that surround the island and taste the local beef. We also witnessed a cooking demonstration and tasting of traditional dishes handed down by the Tahitian foremothers. Later we participate in a fixture of Norfolk Island, the Progressive Dinner. It is the perfect way to get a taste of the real Norfolk lifestyle. Our first stop is at the northern tip of the island to enjoy pre-dinner nibbles at a clifftop home with amazing ocean views. The evening finishes with main course and dessert at a large family home on the southern side of the island. Our host will also entertain us with some of his island experiences and share some of the historical practices and industries.

This afternoon we meet more locals as we join the Farm & Industry Tour to witness their enterprises sustaining the Norfolk Island community. These might include raising meat-producing sheep, market gardening, pig farming, manufacturing soft drinks and liqueurs, or exporting Kentia seedlings. Refreshments will be provided.
