Norman Clarke Concert 2021
Event description
Mr Norman Clarke is an Old Boy of the College (GT54) who has kindly donated all of the instruments used by the students in Years 5 and 6. In support of his vision, all students in Years 5 and 6 learn a musical instrument. This unique program takes place during school time and forms part of the students’ curriculum assessment.
Over the course of the two year program, students will perform at the Norman Clarke Concert, Spring Concert, Queensland Catholic Schools and Colleges Music Festival (QCMF) as well as a combined musical item at our iconic Celebration of Excellence as part of a concert band or string orchestra depending on the instrument they learn.
Mr Clarke believes that music helps the students to achieve greater educational outcomes – as well as giving them lifelong enjoyment. It is through Norm’s generosity that the talents we see in Years 5 and 6 musicians, have enabled us to identify many students who have proceeded to achieve great accomplishments in their musical journey at Terrace and through to higher education study.
