Pirritu Stay Strong

Description

Sister duo 'North and Elsewhere' (NSW) bring their debut album tour to Naarm/Melbourne. They'll be joined by local acts Pirritu and Wattle Lane for a night of folk storytelling at Cafe Gummo.

Cate Taylor is an award-winning, indie-folk songwriter from Naarm (Melbourne), performing delicately crafted material with voice, guitar and mandolin. Amla is a captivating multi-instrumentalist (flute and violin) drawing on her classical training and extensive performance experience. Together they form the contemporary folk duo Wattle Lane.

Ngiyampaa songman PIRRITU creates gentle, honest folk music that reflects his ongoing journey of reconnecting with land, language family and Country. Rich instrumentation and distinctive vocals carry stories of love, loss and hope, inviting audiences into a deeply personal and moving musical experience.

North and Elsewhere are Folk Alliance Australia's 2026 'Youth Artist of the Year'. Raised on folk music and family harmonies, Hazel and Roanna Law merge storytelling traditions with honest, contemporary lyricism. They explore humanity and connection with a grounded yet joyful presence that resonates with adults and children alike. Their live performances are characterised by sibling harmonies and their on-stage connection; to each other and to the audiences they sing for. They have twice won their regional final of the ListenUp Music 'Songwriting Prize' with two tracks from their debut album ‘Safe Harbour’. North and Elsewhere are touring 'Safe Harbour' from Nov '26 to Feb '27 with shows across six states and territories including appearances at major folk festivals.

Doors at 7pm for a 7:30 start.
