NORTH EAST BATTLE OF THE BANDS 2026 – ALBURY HEAT

Ready to take the stage?

Young solo artists, duos and bands from across North East Victoria and Albury are invited to perform, share their original music and compete for a place in the North East Battle of the Bands Grand Final.

Entry is free. All performers must register before the event. Set times and arrival information will be confirmed with acts before the heat.

Support emerging musicians from across the region and enjoy an evening of live original music at Retro Lane Café.

Spectators of all ages are welcome and entry is free. Please reserve a Free Spectator Ticket, as venue capacity is limited.

Spectator tickets are separate from performer registrations. Audience members do not need to meet the competition’s age or council-area eligibility requirements.

This is an all-ages, smoke, vape, alcohol and drug-free youth event. Please respect the performers, event staff, venue and other audience members.

WHO CAN ENTER?

Battle of the Bands is open to solo musicians, duos and bands of all genres.

Performers must be aged 12–25 and live in Mansfield, Indigo, Strathbogie, Towong, Albury or Wangaratta. Performers aged under 16 must have adult supervision.

Solo artists, duos and bands will all compete at the combined Albury heat on Friday 23 October.

COMPETITION RULES

1. Entry is free, but participants are responsible for their own travel and accommodation costs.

2. Solo musicians, duos and bands of all genres are welcome.

3. Each act must prepare two or three songs, including at least one original song.

4. All performers must be aged 12–25.

5. Performers aged under 16 require adult supervision.

6. Performances must be suitable for a young audience.

7. Only one entry is permitted per act for the Albury heat.

8. Acts may enter multiple events in the North East series. However, once an act wins a heat, they cannot compete again because they have qualified for the Grand Final.

9. The Grand Final will be held in Benalla on Saturday 14 November 2026.

10. Each act will receive a set time limit before the event. Acts must follow event staff instructions and comply with venue and equipment requirements.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

After registering, the event team will contact your nominated representative to confirm your performance time, arrival information and technical requirements.

Please provide accurate details about all performers, instruments and equipment during registration.

Spectators will receive a booking confirmation for the combined Albury heat on Friday 23 October.
