          Fencing North Junior (U20) Championships 2024
We welcome you to the registration page for the Northern Junior (U20) Championships 2024 to be held at Waitakere Netball Centre, Te Pai Place, Henderson, on Sunday April 14th 2024.
Eligibility
You must be over 13 years old on the day of competition but 19 or under on December 31st 2023
(in special circumstances, and by agreement between a coach and the DT, students younger than 13 may be allowed to enter some of our Regional competitions)Â

Registration
Standard registrations - $30.00 + booking &  cc fees.  Close on Sunday April 7th at 11.55pm Â
Late registrations -Â received after 11:55pm on April 7th will cost $50 + booking & cc fees.
Late entries are subject to availability and at the discretion of the DT.  Last entry is 23.55h on Thursday April 11 2024.
Spectators and Officials: Registration is free with no booking charges.
‘Out of Town’ Entries
This applies to any fencer from the FENCING NORTH REGION who does not reside in Auckland.Â
If you are a Fencing North member who lives outside of the metropolitan Auckland area, please contact the organiser regarding a discount.Â

Participants must be affiliated as full competitive members of Fencing New Zealand for 2024.  International fencers must have a current membership/affiliation to their national Fencing Organisation.

FeNZ affiliation fees are additional to the competition entry.Â
Affiliations of all competitors (National and international) will be checked at time of entry.

Medals: Gold, Silver and two Bronze medals will be awarded in each event.

Weapons CheckingÂ
We will not be doing a full gear check but weights and gauges will be employed at the piste.

** Please arrive in plenty of time for check-in/registration and then help to set up the stadium **
AFTERNOON FENCERS ** Please stay and help with equipment pack-down as required **
8.00 - 8.15 am  Men’s Foil RegistrationÂ
8.00 - 8.15 am Women’s Epee RegistrationÂ
8.00 - 8.15 am  Men’s Sabre or Mixed Sabre Registration
(If there is a separate Women's Sabre event timing for this may change slightly)
11.30-11.45 am Women’s Foil Registration
11.45 -12.00pm Men’s Epée Registration

NOTE:Â A detailed timetable will be published and communicated during the week before the competition when entry numbers are confirmed.

Equipment Standards
All clothing must be in a good state of repair.
Please ensure that your equipment conforms to the following standards;

Torso: | Minimum of 1150N protection.  This can be made up of either a 350N Jacket with an 800N plastron or an 800N Jacket and a 350N plastron, | |
Breeches: | 350N (CEN 1) | |
Masks: | See link to mask specifications above. | |
Gloves: | Must be in good condition and have no hole for body wires.  800N gloves are required for Sabre. | |
Chest Protector: | Compulsory for Women’s events. Optional for Men. | |
Socks: | Socks: m.25.5.b & c b. With breeches, the fencer must wear socks which cover the legs right up to the breeches. These socks must be held up in such a way that they cannot fall down. |
Additional Information
Video Refereeing: All finals may be video refereed, and additionally if resources allow, for the semifinals of each event. In every case, it will be used at the discretion of the Head Referee and D.T.  Video footage will be used solely to review decisions and will not be released post competition.
Sportsmanship:Â We expect the highest standard of sportsmanship from all competitors and officials.
Piste Allocations and Results:Â Â Live results will be posted to FencingTimeLive.comÂ
Podium Protocol:Â All Fencers must wear a School, Club or National Tracksuit Jacket and either breeches or tracksuit pants together with Fencing Shoes.
Food:  Fencers from Tuatahi Club will be running a food stall at the venue serving hot and cold food and drinks, lollies and snacks.
