Northern Beaches Community Walk and Talk
Description
🌿 NORTHERN BEACHES COMMUNITY WALK & TALK 🌿
Sunday 11 October | Queensland Mental Health Week 2026
Build Community, Build Wellbeing
Looking for a simple way to spend your Sunday morning, get outside and connect with your community?
Join us for a relaxed Walk & Talk along Bucasia Esplanade — bringing people together to move, enjoy nature, be present and connect with the people and place around us. 💚
Everyone is welcome — kids, adults, families, friends, neighbours and everyone in between.
Come with someone you know, come along on your own and meet someone new, or simply enjoy some time in nature.
🌿 THE MORNING
8:00am | Arrive & connect
Meet us at the big shade shelter at Bucasia Esplanade to settle in, say hello, meet some fellow community members and hear a brief walk briefing.
8:15am | Walk & Talk
We'll head off along the Esplanade at a comfortable pace. There is no set distance — simply walk for as long as you like and turn around when you're ready.
Along the way, mindfulness prompts will encourage you to slow down, notice your surroundings and be present in the moment. Use them as a conversation starter with your walking buddy, or if you're walking solo, as something to pause and reflect on yourself.
9:15am | Coffee, Conversation & Connection ☕
We'll head over to Beachfront Bar & Restaurant after the walk for some light refreshments on us. Grab your own coffee, pull up a seat and keep the conversation going.
💚 The walk is about more than exercise — it's an opportunity to connect.
Connect with yourself.
Connect with nature.
Connect with your neighbours.
Connect with your community.
🚶♀️ A NOTE ABOUT THE WALK
For the safety and enjoyment of all path users, on this occasion we ask that this be a Walk & Talk only — no bikes or scooters, please. If you're looking to run, then the Saturday 7am Parkrun at the same location is the best option for you...we're slowing it down on Sunday :-)
Prams are very welcome, of course! 💚
♿ ACCESSIBILITY & PARKING
The event is held along the Bucasia Esplanade pathway, with the walk taking place at a comfortable pace and no set distance.
Please be mindful of where you park and respectful of our local residents, ensuring you don't block driveways or restrict access.
There is plenty of additional parking in the surrounding streets, including Waverley Street. If you're nearby, why not ride your bike down and save yourself the hassle of finding a park! 🚲
If you have accessibility needs or would like to discuss whether the event will work for you, please get in touch with the organisers before the event — we're happy to help you plan your morning.
