Northern Subs Night Creatures Album Launch w/ Miles Brown and Mountains of Madness

Tasmanian occult-rock fiends Northern Subs emerge from the gloom with their debut album, Night Creatures. After eight years of mutation within Southern Tasmania’s rich cultural underground, the band has refined its dark craft into a singular art-metal force.

Night Creatures is a blazing collection of musical eclecticism, drawing its brooding power from gothic rock atmospherics, post-metal pummel, industrial mesmerism, and squalls of alt-rock bedlam. With three lead vocalists and five songwriters contributing to these sprawling long-form compositions, the album offers a distinctive journey into the depths of crystalline darkness and beyond.

Miles Brown is an Australian theremin player, composer and producer. Working with the ethereal interface of the gesturally-controlled theremin, he conjures unique emotional landscapes that query the relationships between space, sound, electronics and the body. Through composition, performance and cross-disciplinary collaboration, he develops new contexts for theremin that both expand upon and subvert its traditional uses.

Mountains of Madness are a heavy rock, stoner metal, and doom trio hailing from Tasmania, Australia. Formed in Glenorchy, they are well-known in the local live circuit for their beer-fuelled, sludgy sound, and have drawn comparisons to classic stoner, grunge, and 90s heavy rock bands
