New York, NY… On Sunday, October 27, 2014 at Parkside Lounge, New York’s Mastermind of Bizarre Extravaganza brings you NOT NAKED: The Darlinda Just Darlinda Story. There WILL be nudity, Darlinda often calls herself a naked rainbow performance artist, so her sky clad shenanigans will never stop! The past 20 + years of Darlinda’s performance career and human life have been full of creativity,world travel, hard times, epic times and deep community connections. NOT NAKED is all about all of that and also addresses some big changes coming up in Darlinda’s behind the scenes life! After Darlinda’s new one woman show, Emmy Award Winning Artist Machine Dazzle will join us to DJ the after party/ going away party to send Darlinda off on her 3 month European Tour!
DARLINDA JUST DARLINDA: Darlinda is a Performance Artist, Actor, Model, Burlesque Performer, Dancer, Comedian and Producer based in New York City! Darlinda creates original performance art: Year long “life as art” project Year in Rainbow , Her Dance Theater Work: Untitled Rainbow Project (Wild Project), and One Woman Rainbow & Year in Rainbow LIVE (Joe’s Pub.)
Darlinda performs Off Broadway, Film and Television! With Taylor Mac in A 24-Decade History of Popular Music (MacArthur Fellowship), The Lily’s Revenge(Obie) and The 29th Annual Roots of American Music Festival at Lincoln Center. And she performed in The Cockettes Rumi Missabu at Lincoln Center and Judson Memorial Church. She also performed in the acclaimed Club Shortbus, the immersive version of John Cameron Mitchel’s 2006 film Shortbus. She can be found on television/film in: These Thems, Accommodations, The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, Boardwalk Empire, The Other F Word Series, Betty and BIZARRE the film.
Darlinda is one half of the Burlesque duo The Schlep Sisters, co-producing such shows as The 15th Annual Menorah Horah and The Burning Bush vs. The Second Coming. The Schlep Sisters can also be seen in Getting Naked: A Burlesque Story. Darlinda is a resident artist in Blunderland, hitting stages at Adelaide Fringe, London’s Underbelly, and Bethnel Green Working Men’s Club. Darlinda has produced a variety of shows, some The New York Times called "Shockingly Explicit!" She's a regular performer at the superb NYC venues: The Slipper Room, House of Yes, and The Box.
MACHINE DAZZLE: Beloved downtown bon vivant and all-around creative provocateur Machine Dazzle has been dazzling stages via costumes, sets, and performance since his arrival in New York in 1994. An artist, costume designer, set designer, singer/songwriter, art director, and maker, Machine describes himself as a radical queer emotionally driven, instinct-based concept artist and thinker trapped in the role of costume designer, sometimes.He was also awarded a 2024 EMMY for “Outstanding Costume Design for Variety, Nonfiction, or Reality Programming” for his work in the HBO documentary “Taylor Mac’s 24 Decade History of Popular Music.
