Nothing New Tournament | 2026
Gather your team for a day of soccer, design & community.
The Nothing New Tournament is an inaugural one-day, outdoor 5-a-side soccer event hosted by Lara Chapman and Grace Kim, as part of this year's Melbourne Design Week (MDW). This all-abilities tournament invites the design community and members of the public to socialise, compete, and engage with the principles of waste and sustainability through the beautiful game.
Teams will compete in a fast-paced round-robin group stage, followed by knockout finals. Teams are guaranteed a minimum of three matches, with prizes awarded to the tournament victors. Special guests and talks are to be held during the event. The Nothing New Tournament is an 18+ mixed competition, with each team required to field at least one female player at all times.

Team Entry: $50
Register between 5-7 players - we recommend at least one substitute per team
Individual Entry: $10
Participants will be placed into a team
Spectators: FREE
For transparency: Registration fees help us cover some of the venue and operational costs. This is a not-for-profit event!
