Event description
No Time to Wait: Elevating Voices and Solutions in Public Education for Communities of Color
Public education is at a crossroads, and for communities of color, the stakes have never been higher. Join the Maricopa County NAACP for a timely and powerful event focused on addressing the urgent challenges facing our schools while highlighting solutions that work.
Our panel of leaders will discuss the impact of federal and state policies, the rise of Empowerment Scholarship Accounts (ESAs) and their implications, equity in curriculum and instruction, and the critical shortage of teachers of color. We’ll also share success stories and promising practices from classrooms and communities across Arizona—because progress is happening, even in the face of obstacles.
Panelists include Dr. Racquel Armstrong, Dr. Michael D. Butts, Cedric Collins, and Devin Del Palacio, with Erica Maxwell moderating.
This isn’t just a conversation—it’s a call to action. Together, we’ll explore how advocates, families, and community leaders can stand up for public education.
