Event description

NOURISH - Hearing God’s Voice

God has spoken. God is speaking. And God will continue to speak forever. How can we learn to listen more and more to God’s voice as pastors and in turn help our churches to do the same. This Nourish you are invited to join with other Victorian Baptist pastors and reflect on how you can equip your congregation to recognise and respond to the Spirit.

Keynote Speaker: Tania Harris (PhD) is a pastor, speaker, author, practical theologian, and the founding director of God Conversations, a global ministry that equips people to recognise and respond to God's voice.

PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS WORKSHOP -
Healthy Feedback and Accountability

It is generally acknowledged that accountability and constructive feedback help us to stay on track and to develop in life and ministry. But sometimes it is hard to receive feedback, and accountability may feel more like control. In this workshop we will consider some personal and systemic approaches to healthy feedback and accountability in Pastoral ministry.

Presented by:
John Jeffries OAM from Partners in Ministry

John brings a unique blend of Christian leadership experience through serving in a variety of contexts for several decades. John’s experience gives him salient insights into the many pressures pastors and leaders face as they seek to grow their church or organization. He works closely with leaders to minimize their risk of burnout whilst leading in complexity. John is a qualified Pastoral Supervisor and supports pastors and leaders throughout Australia.

As the long-term CEO of CBM Australia, he grew a small mission agency to one of Australia’s largest and most respected international Christian NGOs. He has extensive governance experience from serving on the boards of several Australian and International NGOs working in disability, medical research and community housing. He has chaired the board of his local church for several years. In 2014 he was awarded an OAM for his services to the community, particularly people with a disability.
