Nourish October 2023
Event description
Nourish October 2023 - SOLD OUT IN PERSON - ONLINE TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE
Fuelling for Fruitful Ministry - Me, We and Us
Fruitful ministry is what we all desire as Pastors. But most of us know what it is like to minister when the fuel tank is low. Everything feels harder, small things quickly become so much bigger and one little setback can feel overwhelming. Paul urges us to, “always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord” (1 Cor 15:58), but it is so hard when we are depleted.
But when our fuel tank is full, everything seems possible, obstacles don't seem to overwhelm us and major setbacks can be overcome with God's help.
This Nourish we will have some great speakers sharing on how we can be fuelled up for ministry in our own settings.
Me - How can I fuel myself for fruitful ministry?
We - How can the significant people in my life help to fuel me for fruitful ministry or for ministry together?
Us - How can the leaders of my church and I fuel ourselves to lead from a place of fruitfulness?
One of our sessions will be led by Nicky and Sila Lee, from Holy Trinity Brompton in the UK, who will join us while visiting Australia to share their wisdom and experience.
This day is for everyone in Victorian Baptist Ministry and we would love for you to come and connect with other pastors. Spouses are welcome.

PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS WORKSHOP
Date: Friday 20th October, 2023
Time: 3.30pm - 5:00pm
Topic : Our Code for Healthy Pastoral Practice
It is nearly 20 years since work began on developing a Code of Conduct for BUV Pastors. In this workshop we will hear from a few Pastors about how our Code helps them and the leaders of their churches to serve in ethical and healthy ways. There will be opportunity to talk together about what is helpful in our Code and what might be amended or added in the light of past experience, present realities and our hopes and vision for the future. Our Code is in place to assist with the accountabilities and aspirations of healthy Pastoral ministry, so come and join in this collegial conversation.
Venue: Essendon Baptist Community Church, 138 Buckley St, Essendon
Price: $20 (inc booking fee)
Attendance at Professional Standards Workshops will count towards BUV Pastoral Accreditation.
