Nourish October 2024
Event description
Nourish October 2024
Relationships that Nourish
Pastoral ministry is all about relationships. The scriptures teach us that ministry is not merely a task we do or a duty we perform but rather an outflow of our relationship with God and others. If we preach, teach, demonstrate powerful gifts but don’t have love we are nothing (1 Cor 13-1-3). In Ephesians 4:2 Paul urges his readers to be completely humble and gentle; being patient, bearing with me another in love. Relationships, marked by love, are at the core for Baptist pastors in fulfilling their God-given calling. This October we will consider three important spheres of relationships that nourish – our personal, local and wider relationships We will share with each other about how rich personal relationships with family and friends and Jesus, can make our ministry life enjoyable and fulfilling. Some BUV Pastors will share experiences of local relationships that can be rewarding, including churches working in partnerships and shared mission together. And the leader of our global Baptist movement, Rev Dr Elijah Brown – CEO and General Secretary of the Baptist World Alliance, will be with us and will help us understand how wider relationships can help us broaden our perspective.
This day is for everyone in Victorian Baptist Ministry and we would love for you to come and connect with other pastors. Spouses are welcome.
