November 2026 WARES Meeting
Description
Delta Railroad Construction will be the featured presenter in Baltimore on November 4. Delta is currently leading major construction efforts on Amtrak's East River Tunnel Rehabilitation Project, one of the most significant infrastructure renewal projects on the Northeast Corridor. The project is rehabilitating two of the four tunnel tubes beneath New York City's East River that were damaged during Superstorm Sandy, modernizing critical track, power, drainage, signal, and safety systems used by more than 450 daily Amtrak, Long Island Rail Road, and NJ TRANSIT trains. Once complete, the rehabilitated tunnels will improve reliability, resiliency, and safety for one of the busiest passenger rail corridors in North America. The presentation will provide an overview of the Rehabilitation of the Amtrak East River Tunnels, including project background, construction challenges, and progress to date.
