About ANIMA!:

ANIMA! are an alternative indie electronic duo formed by Bay born Arielle Vakni and Cape Townian Vicente Espi. Their enchantingly iconic vocal and unique retro electronic production has fast become an US indie favorite alongside their inspirations like Sylvan Esso and Little Dragon.

ANIMA! blend retro synths, lush instrumentalism, electronics and lyrical songwriting with a voice that has an impressionable twist of folk. Remaining independent since their self-titled debut album in 2015, they have since become the sound for Mercedes Benz, to headlining at festivals like Lightning in A Bottle and touring with Macy Gray.

Ten years since their formation, ANIMA! celebrated with a new album Water; released on September 2025. Water is a sonic reﬂection of life's ebb and ﬂow; and a testament to the human spirit's ability to navigate life's challenges. Through themes of joy, loss, grief and acceptance, the songs remind us to ﬁnd equilibrium, cherish our inner child and embrace the journey.

Singles “Jumpy,” “Rest In Peace” and “Like an Ocean” are a testament to why their music is loved both on the dance ﬂoor or for a dive into the experience of emotional indie electronic. Unafraid to speak of our human shadows, Water promises a journey to a new home with brighter illumination.
