Greetings Biodiversifying Personages,

We were hoping to have the Duke of York at our next Field Day. We wanted someone who likes to get their hands dirty, but shit happens and now he says his brother won’t let him come...

Even without him though, it’s gonna be a lotta fun - almost more than I can bear in fact. And the teeming reign and howling winds over the last couple of days will only make it better, better, better, better, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah- nah, nah nah, nah nah nah nah…

 Hey Dude, more information please…

Well, running up the side of the Mollydooker vineyard is an old road reserve studded with gums that are being over-run with weeds. Feral olive weeds to be precise, what I hate with a passion and also dislike intensely. Apart from that they’re OK.

Anyway, the plan is to kill them by the score. Some will pull out by hand, especially after this reign. Some will require Ernst to attack them with his trusty tree-popper - we even have a new one, so one or two lucky punters will get to accompany him on this marvellous mission. And some will require a stern talking to with a drill and some of that red stuff. Gird your loins, Biodiversiteers!

There will also be some gentle weeding of last year’s planting for those who prefer that kind of thing and are willing to be slow and careful.

By the end of the morning, the scene will be clean, and the freed trees will be singing our praises across the valleys and fields. Ring them bells, St Peter!

Some technical details if I may….

We start at 9 bells and down tools at 11.

The nature of the morning’s activities will require that all attendees wear something stylish, robust and able to withstand the enormous strain that will be placed on key seams by the exertional nature of the undertaking. Nudity will not be tolerated, even if the Duke does surprise us all by turning up. And no sweat if he does.

Parking will be in the carpark, which will be clearly indicated by the parking signs. If you can’t read the signs, holler for a marshall.

Lunch will be served shortly after the snags have been made and the cauliflower has been harvested. Plus, there will be opportunity to sample some truly excellent Mollydooker wines, but Don’t Tell Mum.

If yore the kind of person who loves this kind of stuff, then this is for you. And you can even bring a mate along with you to show them how good you are, and how good they could be too as well.

And if you are coming along, you’ll need to click on the Register Button, which automatically connects to both our snag making production line and our peanut sauce factory.

I wish there was more that I could say, and there is, but I can’t be bothered.

See you there!

Cheers,

Geoff H
