LIMITED TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE ONLINE WEDNESDAY 9 FEBRUARY

We are pleased to announce a limited quantity of tickets can be released for sale to attend the National String Competition and Lewis Eady National Piano Competition SEMI-FINALS being held on Thursday 10 and Friday 11 February 2022.

Due to RED Traffic Light system restrictions, we need to reduce capacity and have two new fantastic separate locations secured for the Semi-final Rounds as the University of Auckland was not longer permitted to host them. 

SEMI-FINAL ROUNDS 1 & 2 | NATIONAL STRING COMPETITION & LEWIS EADY NATIONAL PIANO COMPETITION

Flexible attendance is no longer available due to Contact Tracing requirements. 

Audience numbers are reduced due to physical distancing requirements, but there are a limited number of tickets available for individual sessions featuring New Zealand’s finest young classical musicians and workshops from our country’s leading educators.

NATIONAL STRING COMPETITION | with pianist Sarah Watkins
Eight outstanding young string players will each perform two 20-minute recital programmes comprising contrasting styles, including a work by a New Zealand composer.

Venue: Chiron Rock School, 311 Manukau Rd, Epsom

FRIDAY, 11 FEB - ROUND 2 | Two sessions + Finalists announced

LEWIS EADY NATIONAL PIANO COMPETITION
Each piano semi-finalist will perform two 30-minute recital programmes of their choice including a work by a New Zealand composer.

Venue: Hanene Pavilion, 41 Hanene St, Saint Heliers

Following Semi-final Round 2, the judges will announce three string and three piano finalists to compete in the GRAND FINAL being held on Saturday 12 February 2022.
