NSSN and Genesys Electronics || Product Development 101 Workshop - how to turn your lab prototype into a commercial device (Newcastle)

Are you a researcher or a founder who is interested in translating your lab research into a proof-of-concept or prototype that meets user needs, attracts investment or enables a pathway to market?

Genesys Electronics Design in conjunction with the NSW Smart Sensing Network (NSSN) offers this educational seminar led by Genesys Co-CEO George Bou-Rizk and NSSN Electronics Engineer Kimi Izzo.

Join us for a seminar accompanied by a panel session with industry representatives where you will be guided through key aspects of the product development process. Gain insights that will allow you to turn your research into something tangible that can deliver value to your business and user base. Learn how the best in the industry are able to translate an initial concept into a commercial device through a structured and multi-stage prototyping process, standard to the stringent medical device industry – where learnings are translatable across multiple fields.

This one-hour seminar will touch on:

  • Developing design inputs – going from an initial concept to a structured engineering specification document – also useful for writing impactful proposals!
  • The stages to prototyping – and how each one delivers value, from asserting the business proposition and attracting investment through to manufacturability.
  • The general process that a design house follows to bring ideas to life and the kind of things you need to be aware of to guarantee your best chance of success – pertinent to lead researchers/CI's and founders.

Followed by a one-hour panel:

  • Where key industry representatives speak from their own experience during this process (panellists to be confirmed)

The workshop will be followed by networking drinks and canapes at NSSN Sensing Industry Connect.
