NSW/ACT Black Dog Ride to the Red Centre 2021
Black Dog Ride to the Red Centre aims to start a national conversation about depression and suicide prevention. Help
us get the country talking and join us on this epic journey to the beautiful red centre of our great country.
We will have ride groups from all states and territories of Australia travelling to meet up at our final destination,
Alice Springs NT.
Please read the following information and browse the FAQs section if you have any questions about this iconic Ride.
Ride Registration
Registrations to ride all the way to Alice Springs with Black Dog Ride are strictly limited. Registrations close when all places are filled, or at 5pm AEST 30th July 2021.
Registration for the full Black Dog Ride, Red Centre 2021 includes:
- Entry and participation in the fully organised RideÂ
- Back up of a Support Vehicle en route to Alice SpringsÂ
- Commemorative Red Centre 2021 cloth patch, small round sticker and two large stickersÂ
- Commemorative Red Centre 2021 lapel pinÂ
- Commemorative Red Centre 2021 T ShirtÂ
- Entry and participation in the Alice Springs all states group ride, Saturday morning, 14th AugustÂ
- Black Dog Ride Red Centre 2021 celebration dinner, Saturday 14th August (drinks not included)
Ride Itinerary
The detailed ride itinerary and accommodation options will be sent to you in early 2021. Please do not book accommodation until you receive that update, as we will have some suggestions for each stop. That helps keep everyone together as well.Â
The broad itinerary for this ride is as follows.

Total Distance:Â Griffith to Alice Springs - total distance 2,385 kms
Daily route:
Friday 6th August - Welcome & Rider Brief 5.30pm, Coro Club 20-26 Harward St Griffith NSW 2680
Saturday 7th August - 467 kms (Griffith to Wentworth)
Sunday 8th August - 267 kms (Wentworth to Broken Hill)
Monday 9th August - 590 kms (Broken Hill to Woomera)
Tuesday 10th August - 373 kms (Woomera to Coober Pedy)
Wednesday 11th August - 488 kms (Coober Pedy to Erldunda)
Thursday 12th August - 200 kms (Erldunda to Alice Springs)
Friday 13th August - (Free day in Alice Springs)
Saturday 14th August end of ride events:
All States and territories 1/2 hour group ride in Alice Springs on Saturday 14th August, check in at 9:00am for
9:30am departure, location to be advised.
All states and territories celebration dinner in Alice Springs, 6:00pm Saturday 14th August, venue to be
advised.
Ride Preparation
It is imperative that riders ensure their bike is registered, roadworthy, and in proper working order, ready for the significant distance ride ahead. It is also imperative that riders and pillion passengers are fit and well enough for the journey. Black Dog Ride does not take responsibility for these matters.
From February 2021 Black Dog Ride will be sending Rider Updates via email periodically in the lead-up to the ride. Please read these updates to become aware of the information contained in these updates prior to the ride start.
Share the Ride
Each state has a Facebook Group to help you connect with fellow riders. Once you have registered for this ride you can go to your state's Facebook Group and apply for membership. Here's the link to the state group.

Fundraising
We will open a fundraising portal in January and let all registered participants know how to join the portal.
All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
Merchandise
For the month of May 2021 we will make our Polo Shirts and Red Centre 2021 T Shirts available to order online through our shop. This will also be announced in a rider update, and in our Newsletter, closer to the time.
