NSW Alumni - Community Conversation and Lunch
Event description
Do you want to know more about what it’s actually like to be a refugee in Australia?
Sydney-based alumni are invited to join a special lunchtime event hosted by Inner West for Refugees and Jesuit Refugees Service.
When: Saturday 23 September, 12.00-2.00pm
Where: Colombo Social, 159 Enmore Road, Enmore
Over a wonderful Sri Lankan meal cooked in Colombo Social’s a social enterprise kitchen you’ll hear from asylum seeker and sports journalist Maggie and Thanush, a human rights activist who was put into indefinite detention on arrival in Australia.
Join fellow Alumni around a table or two to learn more about seeking asylum and to network and come together as people with our own unique lived experiences.
10 places have been purchased by the program for Alumni. Should friends and family wish to join please email nswalumni@australianvolunteers.com so we can help them purchase tickets for $30 and join our table.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
