NTC and Strange Behavior Presents: Kenji Takimi
Event description
Strange Behaviour and Nelson Techno Collective are excited to bring you Kenji Takimi, a legendary figure in Japan's underground music scene and a global pioneer of left-field house music.
Often compared to the likes of DJ Harvey and Andrew Weatherall, Kenji Takimi is a true pioneer of the underground scene. His label Crue-L Records has been at the forefront of Japanese alternative music since its inception 30 years ago, releasing the likes of Cornelius and Buffalo Daughter, as well as Kenji's own production projects Crue-L Grand Orchestra, Luger E-Go and Being Borings. His much-loved remixes include Cut Copy, Phil Manzanera (Roxy Music), Boris, Sebastien Tellier and Nina Kraviz, and he’s joined legends like Theo Parrish and Idjut Boys in the studio work.Â
Kenji is one of Japan's busiest and most sought-after DJs with an unmistakable romantic, spacey and eclectic style – and we can’t wait to hear him work his magic on the always amazing DeVille dancefloor.
