    Event description

Join us for another leading Professional learning workshop at a fraction of the normal price - a huge 90% off!

Presented by the distinguished, Dr Deborah Callcott.

Fundamental Movement skills are the essential components of movement skills required for growth and development in the Physical Domain. By the end of Year 3 students are required to be proficient in 22 skills that underpin effective movement patterns to allow participation in games and sports activities. Learning these skills and their components must begin in Early Childhood in order for children to be successful in a wide range of movements. Many schools only begin specialist Physical Education in Year 1 so Early Childhood teachers are a very important link in the continuum to proficiency in this area.

    This session will cover:

    • What are fundamental movement skills?
    • Why are they important?
    • How do I determine what to teach and when?
    • Best practice in teaching FMS?
    • How do I assess and report on progress?
    • How do I fit FMS into my teaching program?

Teachers may like to download Book 2 from the website below before the session. This is a free download but quite big so recommended for school download:

AITSL aligned certification will be provided to all attendees.
