Event description

After premiering at Auckland's Pacific Dance Festival, Anton Pulefale aka Lord Niue brings 'Nukututaha' work back to Naarm!

An hour long solo experience that explores a modern-day Indigenous Niuean living in the diaspora. Nukututaha is translated as “Niue stands alone”, which is why the solo component is so important - Tagata Niue (people of Niue) are a minority within the minority Tagata Pacific (people of the Pacific).

'This story creates awareness around what Tagata Niue may look and feel like in today's society through one's lens. The struggles and joy through being ‘alone’, but also finding comfort in who they are and where they come from.
