You have just grown & birthed a baby! Such an epic feat! And now here you are, baby in arms navigating all the newness that newborn life brings, even if it is your fourth.

The journey of becoming Mother can feel overwhelming and confusing AND elating and life-exalting - sometimes all in the same breath - as we meet our babies and ourselves!

The journey of becoming a Mother needs witnessing and acknowledgement.

We are designed to have loving support around us during this profound transition and rite of passage.

Nurtured is a space for you to step into and feel held. It is a space that offers you connection, comfort and support during this time of great change.

‘Nurtured' is a 5 week Circle Series

Each week has a theme that is linked back to matrescence & motherhood.

This space will offer you a delightful sense of belonging, reflection and conversation, and practices to positively nourish you mama (which in actual fact ripples out to nourish your child(ren) & family!)

Who are your space holders?

This circle series I am so excited to have the beautiful Chloe Skeat with me as a co-facilitator!

Chloe is a Mother of 3 boys, and Occupational Therapist with over a decade's experience as a specialist mental health clinician. Chloe has vast experience in infant and perinatal mental health and a passion for facilitating baby emotional wellbeing. She will join us to offer knowledge, insights and practices around mother-baby connections.
Tanya is a mother of 3 boys, postpartum doula & sacred space holder, supporting mothers to thrive during the motherhood continuum. My own experiences of transitioning into motherhood drew me to delve deeper into the cross-cultural teachings & art of postpartum care, so to support & nourish women as they prepare for and move through their postpartum period. I desire for every mother to feel held, acknowledged and celebrated as they navigate their journey as Mother.

Why Nurtured?

As mothers we have traversed a portal that needs witnessing, love and honour. We are invited, by Life, to re-examine so much about ourselves. We need to be seen and held by other women as we navigate the newness and rawness of motherhood, and examine the subliminal and collective cultural narratives that shapes our mothering experience.

FAQ

Can I just sign up to one circle in the series?

No. Nurtured is a 5-week circle series with intention to foster connection, ease & trust within the group. For the purpose of cultivating the vision of connection and celebration, a commitment to the 5 circles is encouraged.

What happens if I miss one Circle?

Newborn mum life happens, and we totally get it! It is ok if there is a week that you can't make it. I will check in with you and share the materials with you.

How does this differ from a mothers group?

There are some key differences between a ‘Mothers Group’ and ‘Nurtured’. Nurtured is a sacred circle space that includes:

facilitated space of circle sharing related to themes and topics;
meditation, journalling and artist expression (perhaps not everything in each circle, but a mix of these elements);
space to express AND listen to others (circle agreements will be created at the first circle);
with focus on the mother - recognising the mother-baby dyad and the emotional fusion that exists with mother and child;
a space where conversations move beyond the superficial and allow for deeper connection & reflection

Tanya has been trained as a Sacred Mama Circles Facilitator through the School of Intuitive Motherhood where Eastern practices and science are merged, and - offer experiences and opportunities to nourish all aspects of self - physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual.

How else will the group be connected during the 5 weeks?

A messenger chat group (or similar) will be created for the participants to stay connected during the circle series. This group chat will allow for continued sharing of reflections, inspiration, the wins and the challenges. Participants are of course welcome to engage as much or as little as they like.
