Nurturing is Necessary: Scent Making Workshop

Join artist and naturopath Dhana Merritt for a special scent making workshop where participants will blend a range of essential oils to make a personalised scented body cream.

As a Brisbane based multidisciplinary artist, Dhana was engaged to make the scent used in Jenn Nkiru’s installation REBIRTH IS NECESSARY. Hear from Dhana about the process of making this component of the work, and use the exhibition space to explore which fragrances bring you feelings of nourishment, before crafting your own bespoke salve with Dhana’s guidance.

Jenn Nkiru’s first solo exhibition in Australia, REBIRTH IS NECESSARY, explores the magic and dynamism of Blackness in a realm where time and space are altered. The now, the past, and the future are rethought and reordered to create something soulful and mind-bendingly visceral.

The workshop fee includes all materials and you will take home a nourishing body cream.
