Emotional Recovery from Birth (10am-12pm)

Big emotions can come up for us in birth—from old patterns and beliefs to current or past events—which can leave us feeling raw. Birth changes us on a fundamental level, whether our experience was positive, difficult, disappointing, or traumatic. For some, this transformation can be overwhelming and may contribute to challenges in motherhood. Having support to reflect on and make sense of her birth experience in an emotionally safe space can be incredibly beneficial for moving forward with confidence. Emma from Empower Matrescence and Amy from The Perth Birth Link will share practical tools that will support emotional recovery.

Preparing Emotionally For birth (2pm-4pm)

Birth is more than just a plan on paper—it’s a deeply transformative experience that requires trust, preparation, and the right mindset. Too often, women approach birth hoping for the best while quietly expecting the worst, leaving room for fear and doubt to take hold. In a system that often prioritises risk over trust in a woman’s innate ability to birth, it’s easy to feel like decisions are made for you rather than by you. This 2.5-hour workshop is designed to help you feel more prepared, informed, and confident as you approach birth. Together, we’ll explore how your beliefs about birth can shape your experience, ways to support your body’s natural birthing process, and strategies for advocating for yourself in the maternity system. While birth is unpredictable, having a deeper understanding of your options and the tools to navigate them can help you approach your experience with greater clarity and confidence.
