Event description

NutriSoil have great pleasure in sponsoring a special NutriSoil event on Holistic Grazing Management with 'Hand for the Land' Holistic Land Management Consultant Graeme Hand. The event will be hosted by passionate entrepreneur Brooke French and is taking place at “Brooklyn Springs” Brungle Creek Rd, Brungle NSW.

Brooklyn Springs is a 932 acre sheep and cattle grazing property. During the recent drought, Brooke chose to destock the property recognising her pastures needed a break. Since then, the property has been open to campers helping keep the business viable during the pasture recovery process and small numbers of agistment. Brooke has invested time into educating herself about grazing management and how to improve soil health. She has attended a number of field days and information sessions on holistic management and feels it can be confusing for beginners with all the information out there.

Brooke's goal is to reach 120 days of pasture recovery. Recently she heard Graeme Hand speak about his grazing management principles and she liked what she heard. Brooke approached NutriSoil and offered her property to hold a workshop with Graeme so others could gain exposure to his advice. Graeme runs beef farms in Tasmania and NSW, he is the CEO of Stipa Native Grasses Association and has a long history of involvement in the meat industry, sustainable family farming and delivering workshops in holistic management (particularly grazing) through 'hand for the land', one of Australia’s leading holistic land management and training consultancies.

NutriSoil director, Nakala Maddock will be presenting at the event about the science of vermiculture and its connection to human health. NutriSoil, which produce a liquid worm fertiliser using a vermiculture recycling system, is a complementary product in a holistic grazing management system that will help increase photosynthesis and soil health.

The on-farm event aims to address foundations of grazing management and soil health, animal performance and teaches "safe to fail practices" to trial on your own property, including infrastructure ideas.  This event is open to anyone and costs $40 which includes morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. Please BYO own chair.
