NUTS Presents: Othello
ABOUT
NUTS proudly presents OTHELLO at Studio One, running from August 04 to August 08!
Shakespeare's timeless tragedy is coated with a Goodfellas gloss. Swords are traded for guns, robes for suits, beds for lounges and ale for cognac.
'No, Iago, I’ll see before I doubt; when I doubt, prove'
Despite the slick sheen, the story stays the same. In Othello, we bear witness to a man unravelled by doubt, caught in a web of lies spun by his trusted ensign. The resulting danger is pervasive and threatens everything it touches. Being undone by the idea of his wife being unfaithful, we are left questioning whether Othello is truly the monster everyone says he is, or whether he is a victim of a world determined to destroy him.
